SUNBURY — Donna J. Frakes, 79, of Sunbury, died late Monday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2015 at Countryview of Sunbury.
Donna was born on April 15, 1936 in Delaware, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vearl Jaynes and Emma (Bailey) Hansen.
She was a graduate of Olentangy High School.
Donna worked for Nestlé's for 10 years, roasting coffee and driving forklift. Prior to that she worked at the family Marathon Station in Sunbury.
She enjoyed shopping and going to horse shows. She also loved to travel, and had fond memories of her trip to Hawaii. Making time for her grandchildren's special events was important to her. Their basketball games were those she enjoyed the most.
Most importantly, she will be remembered as a very loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Don) Stover of Marengo, Tammy (Eugene) Hogg of Sunbury, Terry Frakes of Grove City, twin daughters, Carla (Rodney) Eagon of Marengo, Darla Frakes (Billy Fling) of Delaware; four grandchildren, Gene (Chelsea), Colton, Mikayla, and Ryan (Samantha); two great-grandchildren, Court and Clay; four step-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Phyllis Hupp of Sunbury.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband of 27 years, Eldon D. Frakes; and their son, Steven Michael in 1962.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5-8 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Funeral services will be performed there at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. Burial will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
