DELAWARE - Doris I. Bowen, 52, of Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born in Kenton, Ohio to the late Irvin and Georgia (Sherman) Southward on Aug. 16, 1961. On June 27, 1998, she married Everett Bowen, and he preceded her in death in 2010. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary VFW Post 3279 and AmVets Post 104 in Delaware. Doris owned and operated her own private cleaning service for over 20 years. Doris is survived by her children Justin Kane Baker, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Joseph Morgan Baker, Marion, Ohio, her sisters; Linda (Larry) Shoewalter, Fredericktown, Ohio, Lillian VanHorn, Mt. Gilead, Ohio, Donna Honaker, Marion, Ohio, Vivian (David) Jackson, and Georgia Green, New Bloomington, Ohio, brothers: Jim Southward, LaRue, Ohio, William Southward, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Irvin "Bud" Southward, Pasadena, Md., her life-long love, Brent Stayner, Delaware, Ohio, as well as 2 grandchildren, Izabell Marie Baker and Dayla Monica Marie Galilai.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends and will always be with them in their hearts.
Calling hours for Doris will be on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, Ohio. Burial will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.boydbornfuneralhome.com.
