Julia Condit Obituary

Former Sunbury Resident
Julia F. Condit

Julia F. Condit, 84, of the Willow Brook Community in Delaware and formerly of Sunbury, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 surrounded by her family at Grady Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Linworth on January 17, 1928, to the late John and Alma (McNaughton) Hartsook. A graduate of Galena High School in 1947, she resided in southern Delaware County until moving to Delaware in 2002.
She married Earl G. "Red" Condit in 1948, together they shared 62 wonderful years until his death on June 10, 2011. Together they raised a family, built a home, and shared in the interests of harness racing and golfing.
First and foremost she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was very active in the lives of her family. She retired as a key punch operator for J.C. Penny Company.
A longtime member of the Sunbury United Methodist Church, she also served on the elections board for Genoa Township. Skilled with the needle and thread as a seamstress, she was a woman of beauty and grace, with an engaging smile. She will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren of whom she was most proud.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lynn (Michael) Whetstone of Lancaster, Gary (Rita) Condit of Westerville and Nancy (Jim) Herbert of Westerville; nine grandchildren: Benjamin, Amanda, Courtney, Joel, Kirk, Hilary, Brittany, Nicholas and Zachary; nine great-grandchildren: Robbie, Anna, Shannon, Jack, Colin, Taylor, Avery, Owen and Reghan; Brother-in-law: Dominic Mongiardo; Sister-in-law: Verna Mae (Condit) Belcher; nieces; nephews; and a community of friends.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Robert and John Hartsook, and sisters: Ida Mongiardo and Mary Myers.
Graveside services were held for her family and burial took place in Trenton Cemetery.
All friends and extended family members are invited to attend the memorial services, which will be held in the Terrace Room of Willow Brook Christian Village, 100 Willow Brook Way South, Delaware, on Saturday, January 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brian Smith officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to: Sunbury United Methodist Church, 100 West Cherry Street, Sunbury, Ohio 43074 or Willowbrook Christian Village, 100 Willow Brook Way South, Delaware, Ohio 43015.

I was a close friend of Julia's sister, Ida and always admired them both very much. Beautiful women in many ways.

The God of comfort is near to those that are broken at heart, and promises us that he will undo all the effects of death, and remove death itself.
