DELAWARE — On November 26, 2020, Robert Scott Green of Delaware, Ohio, always known to friends and family as "Bob," left this life that we know in Sarasota, Florida after a short illness. Bob was born on May 18, 1942 in Orange, New Jersey.
He spent his youth in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, graduating from Haverford High School in Pennsylvania. He attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, graduating in 1967 with a BA in Business and as a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. While at Parsons College he met and married the love of his life, Ann Marie (Sissy) Jeisel, becoming his constant companion for 56 years.
Bob enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967 and attended Officer Candidate School, graduating as a lieutenant. He then served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970, honorably discharged as a captain. He then served his country in the Marine Corps Reserve. He and Ann then settled in Delaware where he was a realtor and appraiser for over 50 years. He was also the President of Northwest Popcorn & Seed Company for several years.
Bob loved the Marines and the Military and it was reflected in his membership, leadership and assistance with many Military Organizations. He was active with Wounded Warriors & Disabled Veterans, Marine Corps League and Am Vets. He took a leadership role as Commander of Delaware American Legion #115 for three terms. He was an Active member of Ashley Post #513 of the American Legion for many years, was a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Marine Corps League and the La Casa Veterans in Florida. Bob was also an active Life Member of the Delaware Elks, Moose and Eagles Lodges from 1970 until his passing.
Bob loved the Delaware Community where he volunteered tirelessly to help whenever he saw a need and in any capacity. He was presented a Lifetime achievement Certificate from Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, was Chairman of the Delaware Chapter of the Red Cross, and on the Planning Committee for the Bicentennial Celebration Parade and Activities. Many may have recognized him lighting fireworks for the 4th of July Celebrations or proudly carrying our beloved American Flag with the military Color Guard in many downtown parades.
Bob also had time to become a busy and successful realtor and appraiser receiving several awards including Associate Realtor of the Year by the Delaware County Board of Realtors. Many of you have seen Bob walking from his office down North Sandusky Street to the Hamburger Inn six days a week at about 8 a.m. There he met a longtime group of friends for one of the best breakfasts in town, accompanied by a 'side' of local news. His stool at the counter should have a sign saying "Bob had breakfast for 30 years sitting on this stool."
Golf provided Bob with some of his best times and also most frustrating times. No matter how badly he was playing that day, he always had fun with his leagues and friends. And by the way, there was a new joke at every green! His Monday Golf League at Mill Creek Golf Course was something he would never miss. In addition, he enjoyed weekend golf trips to the Carolina's and Beverly, OH. His personal best golf achievement was three holes-in-one. Bob also found great pleasure and a sense of aggravation to locals by wearing his Michigan gear on OSU game days.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Jeisel Green of Delaware, his twin Sister Patricia Connell of Florida, and many cousins, nieces and nephews living in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Delaware and Delaware, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry P. and Elizabeth Scott Green, and his older sister, Betsey Barnhill of Wilmington, Delaware.
A memorial service to celebrate Bob's Life will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, 334 S. Sandusky Street, Delaware, Ohio. After the service, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Trillium Condominium Club House at 1740 Downs Chapel Drive, Delaware.

I always enjoyed running into Bob & Sis downtown, at class reunion meetings (Sis's Class of '60 from Willis) or at any Veterans events around here! Bob was always so positive & uplifting, and is certainly going to be missed by so many of us in Delaware! My condolences and love to Ann as we remember the "good times"!

I worked at Whitaker Pharmacy and Bob worked at Century 21 which was in the same strip mall in Delaware on Troy Road and Central Avenue. On my 21st birthday Bob gave me his centrury "21" pen to wear for the day!! I will always remember that. Bob would come in the pharmacy daily for his newspaper.
Rest in peace Bob.
