ROY O'DANIELS Obituary
DELAWARE — Roy E. O'Daniels Jr., 72, of Delaware, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 8, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 7, 1943 in Shrewsberry, West Virginia to the late Roy Edward O'Daniels Sr. and Freda Mae (Morris) O'Daniels. Roy graduated from Hilliard High School in 1961 and then proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1961-1966.
Roy worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Security and later with Timkins Roller Bearing in Columbus, retiring after many years of service. He loved driving his patrol car and he also enjoyed old movies especially westerns with John Wayne. He was always a jokester and story teller.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 17 years, Janice (Furay); son, Roy "Danny" Edward (Lita) O'Daniels III of Biloxi, Mississippi; daughters, Kelly Jean (Dennis) Bishop of Seville, Ohio, Leah Diane Pickett of Panama City, Florida and Alicia Dawn (Paul) Snyder of Columbus; stepson, Michael William (Kathy) Reisinger of Delaware; stepdaughters, Crystal Dawn Evans of Delaware and Deborah Sue Howard of Columbus; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Michael O'Daniels of Tucson, Arizona; sisters, Sunny Lee Smith of Arkansas and Cheri Woods of Sutter Creek, California; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Drive, Delaware. Pastor Al Perry of the Delaware Christian Church will officiate the funeral services. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with military honors provided at graveside.
Contributions in Roy's memory may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
