Stephen "Steve" Richard Howe, age 76 of Marion, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 11, 2024, following a 6-month battle with cancer.

Steve was a faithful member of the Old Corner Church and also belonged to the VFW Post 3313 of Marion. In his spare time, he enjoyed casting a line and waiting for the fish to bite.

During my research, I came across this obituary and remembered Steve.
I'm sure he was the person I knew.
It was in the late 1960s and early 1970s in Göppingen, Germany, when I met him and Connie in the rented house of Roger and Roselle Chapman.
Both men were working at the Cooke Barracks in Göppingen at the time.
I especially remember the evenings when I sang songs by P, P&M and Bob Dylan to the guitar.
When Steve returned to the States, he sent me a Peter, Paul and Mary songbook.
I myself was born in 1951 and still live in Göppingen.
If my memory hasn't deceived me and the deceased was really the Steve Howe I knew, it would be a pleasure for me to hear this from his family.
Kind regards

I never knew Steve, but know Connie well. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you. If Steve was anything like Connie, he would have been a truly loving, generous person!
