MARION — Wade Lee Zimmerman, 65, of Marion and formerly of Delaware, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the Harding Pointe in Marion, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 27, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Eugene & Florence (Skaggs) Zimmerman. Wade graduated from Olentangy High School in 1974. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Franklin University in just three years. Wade worked for several companies with accounting and bookkeeping including: Rusk Brothers, the State of Ohio, Max and Erma's, and Big Lots. Wade was also a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge Number 18 in Delaware, where he was most recently awarded his 40-year pin.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Scott Putman.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister Anita Kay (Rosemary Hite) Putman; brother Paul Owen (Karen) Zimmerman; nieces and nephews Andrew Carson "Andy" (Angie Vara) Putman, Myra Elaine (Blake) Rund, Philip Michael "Phil" (Sarah) Putman, Robert Eugene "Bob" (Courtney White) Putman, Melissa Gail Englehart, and Leanna Kay Zimmerman; great nieces and nephew Mary, Julia, Josiah, Audrey, and Sophie; Uncle Noah Skaggs; Aunt RuthAnn Cleaveland, along with many other aunts and uncles; cousin Maria Bobetsky, and numerous other cousins.
Family was everything to Wade, he enjoyed time spent with his siblings, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Wade enjoyed golfing, collecting coins, and watching Ohio State sports. Wade also held a special place in his heart for dogs. Wade's greatest achievement was being a cancer survivor. Those close to Wade will remember him as the caring, and persistent fighter that he was.
Friends may join the family Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 1 p.m. — 3 p.m. at the William Street United Methodist Church, 28 West William Street, Delaware Ohio 43015. Masonic Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. and funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will be at a later date at Sunset Cemetery. Masks will be required inside the church.
