Anthony Winder Obituary
Salisbury- Anthony James Winder (70) "Tony" as he was afficately called was born August 9, 1945 in Salisbury, Maryland. Tony parents were Andrew Winder & Alice Brooks Winder. He was raised by Isaac and Minnie Jones.
Tony was educated at Salisbury Elementary and Salisbury High School. He graduated in the class of 1963. He attended Maryland State College (UMES) for 2 ½ years until he was drafted for the Viet Iman War.
Tony worked at Campbell Soup, Crown Cork & Seal for 27 years, then became employed Matech until his illness prevented him from working.
Tony belong to the National Bowling League (an outstanding bowler). He was lifetime member of VFW Post 10159. He was an avid reader and love music. You could always count on Tony to take pictures during family barbeque, family gathering and much more. At a early age he attended St. Paul A.M.E. Church Salisbury, Maryland with his aunt and uncle.
He also attended John Wesley UM Church in Mardela, Maryland.
Tony is survived by his wife of 30 years Mary Jones Winder of Salisbury, MD; one son, Daryl Winder of Pocomoke City, MD; one grandson Daekwon Winder of Florida; one Aunt, Toni Brooks Anderson of Wilmington, DE; three Stepchildren, Sam L. Cook Jr., Victoria M. Cook & Diane E. Cook all of Salisbury, MD; four sister-in-laws, Virginia Burton of Slaughter Neck Delaware, Iris Hazzard of Milton Delaware, Lucille Bacon of Delmar Delaware, & Caroline Jones of Elkton MD; two brother-in-laws Louis and John Jones of Seaford, DE, Many Nieces, nephews cousins & extended family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Hubert, Graham, & Andrew (Buster) Winder Jr.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 8th, from 6-8pm with a service Friday, Oct. 9th, at 11am both service will be held at Wesley Temple U.M. Church.

Mary, I was saddened to learn of your husband's passing. Even though I don't live in Salisbury anymore I do try to keep up with what is going on thru the newspaper. I worked with Tony many years at Crown Cork & Seal. I don't think I ever saw him without a book in his hands and a smile on his face. He had such a quiet voice and gentle spirit. I know that he will be greatly missed by his loved ones. I pray that God will bless you and give you peace in your time of sorrow.

I am sorry to hear of Tony's passing. What a great man and friend he was to many. I always enjoyed time spent with him when we all bowled at Cherokee Lanes. He was a great friend and had a great spirit about him. My heartfelt, love, thoughts, and prayers are with you all in this time of loss. May God surround you with His comfort, peace, love, and strength and may you hold on to and cherish all the memories of Tony.
