Barbara Hastings

Easton-Barbara B. Hastings of Easton died on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Genesis Healthcare, The Pines, in Easton. She was 83.

Born June 2, 1930 in Salisbury, MD, she was the daughter of the late Hollis Bailey and Louise Parker Bailey. She graduated from Mardela High School in 1947 and on September 4, 1948 married Robert J. Hastings. For most of her working years she was a bookkeeper for heating and air-conditioning businesses in the Easton area; Wightman Electronics, Barnes and Forney and Collier Heating and Air Conditioning. Her last employment was at Chesapeake Gourmet in Queenstown.

Mrs. Hastings was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren. Her husband, Bob, died August 13, 1979.

Mrs. Hastings is survived by two daughters; Mary Lou Hutchison and her husband Robert of Cordova, and Betta Fraccaroli and her husband Jim of Chestertown, a brother, Harold Bailey and his wife Rachel of Auburndale, FL, four grandchildren; Travis Hutchison and his wife, Tresa, Jodi Richardson and her husband, Donny, Jim Fraccaroli and his wife, Kristin and Peter Fraccaroli and his wife Jennifer, and seven great-grandchildren; Kara Hutchison, Ryan Fraccaroli, Reid Fraccaroli, Hayden Hutchison, Bodey Richardson, Nate Fraccaroli and Jasper Richardson, and two sisters-in-law, Jean Bailey of Salisbury and Peggy Lewis of Pocomoke City. She was preceded in death by a brother, Hollis Bailey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Fairview Church of the Brethren in Cordova, where friends may call from 11:30 -12:00 PM.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., in Easton.
