Christine Delano Obituary
Salisbury-Christine (Christy) Adair Delano, 42, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
She was a beloved daughter of Mike and Norma Delano of Salisbury. She leaves behind her sister, Jenny Hearne; her husband, Billy; and their children, Cole and Alexis.
Christy was busy from the age of 12 in the family business, The Country House. Many times she was working behind the scenes, especially with numbers. She will be sadly missed! Co-workers often teased her about saying, "according to my calculations." She developed close relationships with many of her co-workers and was loved by all. Everyone loved to hear her contagious laughter.
Christy loved books and typically read about one book a day. Some of her favorite memories were from spending time at her Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop's farm in Newark. In recent years, her happiest times were those spent with her nephew Cole and niece Alexis. The loved her so much!
Educated in Snow Hill schools and at Parkway Christian Academy, Chris attended Salisbury University as a business major.
Chris leaves behind uncle and aunts: Bob and Shirley Jackson of Snow Hill, Randy and Sue Delano of Salisbury, Skip Delano, Liz Wiesen and Page Delano of New York City and Douglas Delano and Beth Hannold Delano of Washington, DC. Cousins left behind are Joanie Brittingham, Paul Jackson, Carol Morris, Andy Jackson, Molly Delano Davidson, Joe Delano, Amy Delano McNair, Marion Delano and William Delano. Her late grandparents were Robert and Nellie Jackson and Marion and Nancy Delano.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Allen Memorial Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Dr. William Warren will officiate. Interment will be private.
For those who wish to make a donation in her memory, we suggest to her church, Allen Memorial Baptist Church or to the Salisbury Christian School.

So sorry for the family's loss. As I know these times can be very difficult, I encourage you to pray constantly as 1Thessalonians 5:17 says. When you do this our Heavenly Father takes the heavy burden off of you so that you can be strengthened and in time he's going to place upon your heart and mind peace. I hope you all are able to heal soon.

I am so very sorry to hear about Christy.... What a wonderful and sweet child she was at Snow Hill Elem. and what a wonderful woman she became as she grew into a mother and businesswoman. I used to stop at the store and talk with her and reminisce about old times. I will miss her deeply. May God be especially near to you during the difficult days ahead. Praying for you all.

Where do you find the words.......... We are so deeply sorry for your loss and cannot imagine the pain you are feeling right now. My heart breaks for you, Jenny, Mike and Norma. Parents should not have to bury their children. I hope as time passes happy memories take away some of the pain, that along with knowing she is joining some pretty special people in heaven. Loving thoughts and prayers are with you.

Words cannot express how sad I feel for all of you left behind. I may not have known Christy except through the postings on Facebook from her family who I am privileged to have grown up with in Snow Hill, but I can tell she was a special and wonderful daughter who will be terribly missed. One day in the future I will meet her in her heavenly home. Be comforted in knowing where she is and that the Lord has welcomed her with open arms. Blessings and hugs!
