Ellen Spurry Christ

Trappe - Ellen Spurry Christ, 50, died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 surrounded by her family at Talbot Hospice House in Easton. She was born on September 15, 1967 in Crisfield, MD, the daughter of Chris F. Spurry and Beverly Bullis Spurry of St. Michaels.

Ellie received her Master's degree in pediatric nursing from Catholic University in Washington, DC. She served honorably in the U.S. Navy as a pediatric nurse practitioner for five years, stationed at the Naval Submarine Base in New London, CT, followed by service in the Naval Reserves, ending her career with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

She married John Christ on September 22, 2013. Ellie was a loving wife and mother. She was dedicated to her two boys Albie and Jobe, always putting them first. She rarely missed an event, be it baseball, lacrosse, or a school play . . . usually seen in the front row cheering them on, taking on the role of "Team Mom." She was a member of the Easton Unitarian Church. Ellie was currently employed with Shore Pediatrics where she was a dedicated and caring provider - affectionately referred to by her patients as "Dr. Ellie." She loved her job.

Ellie volunteered at "Wonder Woman", a breast cancer awareness group and was also one of the founding volunteers for "Saving Second Base", a local breast cancer awareness group. She is survived by her husband, John Christ of Trappe; her sons, Albie Christopher Urbina and Jobe Christ Hause, both of Trappe, her parents, Chris and Beverly Spurry of St. Michaels; her sisters, Elizabeth Spurry of Trappe, Megan Nittle of Easton and Tracey Studli of Florida along with their families and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and Harry and Judy Hause.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Reva Spurry and Gene and Lorraine Somers, and great grandparents, Randolph and Maude Evans of Smith Island.

The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, July 28, 2018.

A Memorial Service will be held on Smith Island, Saturday August 11, 2018 at 4 PM. The boat "Chelsea Lane" will leave Somers Cove Marina at 2:45 PM prompt and will return after the service.
