Laurel, DE-Elsie Snead, 86, of here, departed this life on Friday, August 9, 2013, at Seaford Center-Genesis Healthcare. Born in New Kent County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Crump and Lorraine Crump. Her husband, James E. Snead, Jr., and son, Edward Leroy Snead, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Snead attended Mt. Zion Holy Church in Delmar, DE.

She worked at Townsend Poultry for several years.

Precious memories will be cherished by: three daughters, Elizabeth Snead and Sireta Snead, both of Laurel, and Lorraine (Anthony) Cuffee of Greenwood, DE; one stepdaughter, Doris Burton of Seaford, DE; one brother, Hugo (Ruth) Crump of North Carolina; one sister, Evelyn Bradley of Dover, DE; one uncle, Thomas Allen of Baltimore; two aunts, Annabelle Ellist of Richmond, VA and Louise Allen of Baltimore; three brothers-in-law, Ben Sample of Philadelphia, PA, Eddie (Virginia) Snead of Laurel and Johnny Snead of Berlin; three sisters-in-law, Annie Fooks of Berlin, Patricia (Charles) Minor, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA and Joan Crump of New Jersey; one aunt-in-law, Bertie Colona of Exmore, VA; seven grandchildren, Brent Horsey, Camilla Cuffee, Ebony (Augusto) Rodriguez, Russell (Markeisha) Burton, Jr., Edward (Catie) Jordan III, Kendra Snead, and Nicholas Snead; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.

Mrs. Snead will lie in repose on Friday, August 16, 2013, from 10 to 11 AM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, PA located on 1618 West Road in Salisbury. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Rev. Charles E. Minor, Jr. will be the Officiant. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc. located on West Road in Salisbury.
