John William Bickell, III

Annapolis - John William Bickell, III passed away at the age of 64 on June 26th after suffering a stroke six days prior. John was born July 19, 1953 in Salisbury, MD and graduated from Wicomico High School. He lived in Salisbury and Jacksonville Beach, FL before moving to Annapolis to work with his brother and where he met his wife Annabel.

John was a master carpenter who claimed he could "fix anything but a broken heart." He loved to cook, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed many sports; but above all he was a surfer. His ashes will be spread into the Atlantic Ocean off the shores of Assateague.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother Steve. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Annabel and his son Nathan of Annapolis as well as his sisters Candy of Pittsville, Linda of Parsonsburg and Debbie of Snow Hill.

A Memorial will be held Saturday at 2 PM at his home in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers please go surfing in his memory or make a donation to the Surfrider Foundation.

Going to miss that sweeping bottom turn. I will always remember the night of hilarity watching "The Terror of Tiny Town" followed by the Dylan, Dead, and Petty/Heartbreakers concert the next day at RFK Stadium! I love you, brother.
