Joseph Christopher Obituary
Eden-Joseph Christopher, 82, of Eden died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at The Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Magnolia, New Jersey, Joseph Christopher was the son of the late Clarence M. Christopher and Elfrida Mezger. He retired after thirty-two years as a welder from Crown Cork and Seal, formerly located in Fruitland, Maryland.
He served his county in the US Navy as a sailor. Mr. Christopher was a fifty-year member of the Redman Tony Tank Tribe 141 in Fruitland and an active member of the O. T. Beachamp Post 94 of the American Legion. Mr. Christopher loved boating, fishing, gardening, and was an avid collector. He stayed active on his farm and loved the outdoors and his beloved wife, Ruth Rohm Christopher, who survives him.
He is also survived by his three children, Karen Lesia of Briggsdale, Colorado and her husband Scott; David Christopher of Cheyanne, Colorado; and Ralph Christopher of Fruitland. He is also survived by four step-children, Joseph Mancuso of Arlington, VA; Roseanne Richardson of Salisbury, MD; Mary English of Machipongo, VA; and Tony Mancuso of Roswell, Georgia. He leaves his two sisters, Marian Whitelock and husband Charles "Mike" of Mount Vernon; Sarah Renshaw and her late husband Denton Renshaw of Salisbury; and one brother, George Christopher of Fruitland. He was also loved by several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved step-daughter, Jennie Mancuso, brother, John "Jack" Christopher and sister, Margaret Hoover.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 at the Holloway Funeral Home on Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
