Mike: Was a great police officer, and an even greater friend. A story: One winter night I found myself driving behind Mike's Police Chevy Blazer with his dog in the back. At each stop light I would pretend to bark at the dog (the dog was very smart) and he began to bark and raise hell. Mike was fussing with him, but every traffic light the circus started again. After 40 or 50 blocks of this, Mike pulled into the 27th St. 7-Eleven. When I parked next to him the dog went wild. SO DID MIKE-in a friendly way. He said "I KNEW , just KNEW it was you agitating the dog, my ears are ringing!" From that day on, if that dog saw my car in traffic, he got wound up. I miss seeing Mike. Ronnie, your dad was a great guy!

Ronnie and Tom, and all the rest of Mike's family. Please accept our most sincere condolences. Mike was a good police officer, a good friend, and a good man.
We both enjoyed working with Mike over our careers in the State's Attorney's Office, and for Joyce a short stint at OCPD.
May Mike rest in peace, and all of you take comfort in the good life that he lived.
Most sincerely, Jeff & Joyce Mayne

I enjoyed working with this fine man. As State's Attorney, I always found him to be an honest officer, a proud father, and a true professional.
