Robert Gannon Obituary

Robert F. Gannon, Jr.

Vancouver, WA - Bobby Gannon received eternal healing and his enormous reward in heaven on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at his home in Vancouver, WA surrounded by his family.

Bobby lived a life of love for God, his family, and his friends that is unmatched. He will be forever missed and loved always by his wife of 41 years, Jackie; daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Erik Tabinowski and Meagan and Kyle Oxford; grandchildren, Caleb, Life, Joshua, Hope and Rhodes; mother, Frances Gannon; brother, Jerry Gannon; sister and brother-in-law Debbie and Butch Gardner; as well as countless friends and hundreds of people he mentored and loved as his own family. He joins his father, Robert Gannon Sr; son-in-law Ryan Twilley; and many loved ones in heaven.

Bobby was born on December 24, 1960 in Salisbury, MD. He graduated from Parkside High School in 1978. He grew up working for Gannon's Plumbing, owned Cornerstone Plumbing Company in Salisbury, worked for the city of Fruitland, and for Kruse Plumbing in Vancouver, WA. He helped establish and served in pastoral positions in many churches in Delaware and Maryland, started 3rd Wave Surf Ministry in Ocean City, worked with missions organizations in Georgia and Haiti, mentored at Epoch Dream Center, mentored hundreds of people independently, and somehow managed to be the greatest husband, Dad and Poppy on earth. His ability to love people like Jesus was nothing short of incredible.

He loved surfing, basketball, throwing things at people, traveling with his wife, hiking with his daughters, wrestling with his grandkids, making everything more fun, and most importantly, sharing the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Please join us to Celebrate his Life on Saturday, May 15 at 1:00pm at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury, MD.

I was very sorry to read about the loss of Bobby. I had the good fortune to be his high school principal at Parkside High School which was opened in 1975. Bobby was a vital part of the successful opening of that school. I am always saddened to read about the loss of a student of mine. I extend my deepest sympathies to his entire family at this great loss. Tony Sarbanes

Thank you, dear Bobby, for showing our son Kyle so many small kindnesses. He always felt included, wanted and valued during his years joining the 3rd wave ministry. You taught kindness and genuine empathy by just being you. From our perspective when ever we saw you you treated us like a long lost friend that you were glad to see again. Filled with the presence of love, and grace on your face, you were always a welcome sight.
To the Gannon family, please accept our deepest condolences at your loss.
