Robert Lee Gladden Sr.

SALISBURY — Robert Lee Gladden Sr., 80, of Salisbury died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at his home. Born in Salisbury on April 16, 1932, he was a son of the late Marvin and Agnes Cox Gladden.

Mr. Gladden was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He was the manager of Shore Distributors, retiring with more than 30 years of service. Memberships include president of Seaford Jaycees, commander of the Centreville American Legion, president of Green Hill Yacht and Country Club, president of the Salisbury City Council, member of Wicomico County Liquor Board, president of the Wicomico County Election Board, president and chairman of Crosswinds Board of Directors.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty J. Hubeny Gladden; son, Robert Lee Gladden Jr. and his wife, Karen; daughter, Terri L. East and her husband, Gregory; grandchildren, Lauryn M. (Gladden) Murphy, Melanie B. Gladden, Kennedy Nicole East and Tanner East; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lee Murphy, Brooks W. Murphy and Rilynn M. East; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Linda and Bill Jones and Joy and Greg Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Benita Harris will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802.
