Shirley Mortimer Obituary

Shirley Mae Mortimer

Salisbury-Shirley Mae Mortimer, 87, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Quakertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard Freed and Mildred Leister Freed.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and the Eastern Star, Hyattsville, MD Ruth Chapter, and also a volunteer for local hospitals. She enjoyed traveling, playing golf, walking and being around her friends and family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, William "Bill" F. Mortimer, Jr.; a son, Hamilton "Buddy" Shoop & his wife, Jean of Jessup, MD; 3 step-children, Michael Mortimer of FL, Linda Ellen Rose and Karen Lee Mortimer, both of Knoxville, TN; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Nolfe of Breinigsville, PA.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. George R. Patterson will officiate. She will be laid to rest at a later date at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Pennsburg, PA.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, 112 High Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
