Stephen 'Stevie' Ronald Evans

Cambridge - Stephen "Stevie" Ronald Evans, 75, prominent Cambridge businessman, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his home.

Born on February 24, 1945 in Cambridge, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lorraine Adele Pink Evans and Edward Nathaniel Evans.

Stevie attended the local schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School with the class of 1963. He was a graduate of Wesley College. Stevie served his country by joining the United States Navy In 1967, and was honorably discharged in 1970.

On November 9, 1968, he married the former Janice Brinson. They spent their first married years in Morocco while Stevie continued to serve in the US Navy. Upon discharge, they returned to make their home in Cambridge where Stevie entered the family business, Cambridge Wire Cloth. Co.

Stevie began his career in the family business that was founded by his great-grandfather. He was Executive Vice President at the company and was loved by all that worked with and for him. During his tenure there he made many lifelong friends all over the country.

Stevie was a businessman, a family man and a community man. He was a founding member of the Grand National Waterfowl Hunt Association and Bank of the Eastern Shore. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 and United Way. He was a lifelong Baltimore (Colts/Ravens) football fan and enjoyed attending home games in Baltimore ever since childhood. Stevie enjoyed hunting, playing cards, deep sea fishing and golfing with his friends.

He spent many hours taking care of his beloved home and was happiest riding the tractor with his grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and the property he called home his entire life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janice, and their children, Katie Pink Evans Tolley and her husband Morgan, Bradley Creighton Evans and his wife Sarah; his much loved grandchildren Joshua Evans Tolley, Drew Elizabeth Tolley, Hunter Benjamin Evans and Jack Anderson Evans; a brother Edward N. Evans, II and his wife Bonnie; cousins Ellen Hill and family, Julie Pink Campeau and family, Richard Huber and family, Lamont Huber and family and many great friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 beginning 12 noon at Old Trinity Church Cemetery, Church Creek with Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Stevie will be interred with his family in the Evans and Pink family plot.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stevie's name can be sent to Baywater Animal Recsue, 4930 Bucktown Rd, Cambridge, MD 21613 (the former Humane Society which was started by Stevie's grandfather. Clarence E. Pink many years ago), Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, 6827 East New Market Elwood Rd, Hurlock, MD 21643.
