I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Tim. I played with Tim in the L.A. Dodgers organization in Single and Double AA ball. He was a very laid back individual with a calming effect on everyone. He was an incredible athlete especially as a shortstop in baseball. He had all the tools of being a great player with speed, hitting, throwing and mental toughness. He never got upset on the field if he made a mistake, instead he would make up for it in another manner by making a great play, timely hit or great defensive play. He was a leader through example. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Barker Family! Respectfully
John Deutsch

Very sorry to hear about Tim’s passing. He was my favorite competitor growing up in Salisbury. I loved competing against him because he made me better and was humble. He just did it better than everyone else and I admired him. I moved away early but kept up with Tim’s career and even got to see him play at Camden yards. My prayers and condolences to the Barker family.

Very sorry to hear the news. I got to play with Tim in Bakersfield. He was a very talented athlete and a really good guy. Although he didn’t say much he had a good sense of humor and was a great teammate. Remember him having a two homer un game at Reno and can still see that smile on his face. So sorry for the entire family and his friends. Thoughts and prayers from California Brock McMurray

So saddened to hear about Timmy. I have not seen or spoken to him in a very long time. I moved to NC 14 years ago. We played racquetball together back in the day and he was one of the greatest racquetball players I ever knew. Incredible athlete. I looked up to him on the court. Always very nice. My prayers go out to the family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I will remember turning a double play with Tim while playing East Salisbury Little League baseball for the Thrasher's, and then Pepsi team. Also, feeding him the soccer ball for one of his many goals scored playing for the Green Machine and Coach Norman Francis, and then the Salisbury Optimist team. My condolences to his entire family, especially his father Neal, and his sister, Karen.

I am so sorry for your loss. My memories of Timmy include him playing soccer and baseball at WiHi, the trip to south Florida with him playing with the all stars and him working for my dad in Ocean City. I was shocked to learn of his illness and passing away. It is always difficult to lose a family member but especially so when you are close as I know you were. You and your family remain in my thoughts.

Tim was a wonderful athlete but an even better person!! We were friends a long time even though we didn’t see each other very often. He was also the best baseball coach my son ever had, Dylan’s words not mine, and I enjoyed watching him coach almost as much as I did watching him play back in the day! He will forever hold a special place in my heart as well as everyone of his family. You are all very special and I hate that you are missing him right now. He will always be with you , in your hearts and in your memories!! I don’t believe I’ve ever said it but Tim I love ya brother!!
