AUGUST H. PLUMPE JR August H. 'Gus' Plumpe Jr., age 82 of Ft. Jennings, passed away Sunday evening, November 9, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita's. He was born April 2, 1943, in Cloverdale to August H. Plumpe Sr. and Rosemary (Wannemacher) Plumpe, who both preceded him in death. On October 14, 1967, he married Judith A. (Bowers) Plumpe, who passed away on October 8, 2025. Gus is survived by his children, son Augie (Crystal) Plumpe of Lima, daughters, Lisa (Dave) Burgei of New Albany Ohio, Gina (Keith) Moorman of Ottoville Ohio and Angie (Dave) Ireton of Ottawa Ohio; and 12 grandchildren, Rachel (Cainan) Cramer, Ashley and Sydney Burgei, Alyssa and Kyle Odenweller, Nick, Emily, Beth and Andy Moorman, August, Daniel and Marshall Plumpe; and one great-grandchild, Lincoln Cramer. He is also survived by brothers, Karl (Lisa) Plumpe of Ozark, Missouri, and Joseph (Beth) Plumpe of Fairfax Station, Virginia; sisters, Constance (Bradley) Murray of Largo, Florida, Margaret (Stanley) Lassen of Springfield, Missouri, and Debra (Mark) Bohn of Lima; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Elaine Plumpe and Joyce Plumpe. Gus was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Lions fan. He rarely ever missed a game. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Friday, November 14, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm and one hour on Saturday from 11:00 a.m.- 12 noon prior to the funeral service at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street, Delphos. The family requests that everyone dress casually. The funeral services will be Saturday, November 15, at 12 noon at the funeral home, Pastor Neal Whitney officiating.
