Eleanor Margie (Hendrickson) Blair, 86 of Olathe, Colorado passed away August 11, 2025.
Eleanor was born January 2, 1939 on the family ranch near Eckert, Colorado to Ulysses S Hendrickson and Mira Edith Matzke Hendrickson, the second of two children. She was raised on the family ranch and attended school in Eckert and Cedaredge. She was a member of the Eckert Presbyterian Church and the Cedaredge 4-H Chapter. While in high school she also worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Eckert. Eleanor loved the ranch and the ranching life.
Eleanor married William Lowell Blair and moved to Olathe where she lived for most of her next 70 years. They had two children, William Eugene and Margie Lynn. She worked as the bookkeeper for the family trucking business. The marriage later ended in divorce.
In the later years of her career, she worked in retail in the Olathe area where she made many dear friends that she cherished the rest of her life.
Eleanor was a very devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her greatest joys in life were times spent with her family on trips to the mountains or at family picnics.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Neil Hendrickson, her previous husband William Blair and her grandson Jason Blair. She is survived by her children Bill (Lewella) and Margie (Ed), grandson Jarrod (Jennifer) Blair, granddaughter in-law Tina (Justin) McCormick, great grandchildren Sierra (GW), William, Elijah, Mira (Kadin), Joanna, Rebecca (Bradley), Carrie, Faith, Erin, Chandon and six great-great grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Margaret Blair and nephews Wayne, Charlie and Earl Dean as well as many cousins and friends and last but not least her precious King the Mini Aussie.
A service to celebrate Eleanor's life will be held on August 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Delta, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local 4-H Chapter to promote youth in agriculture.
