Glenn Hall Obituary

Glenn David Hall, 48, of Las Cruces, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2010.
Glenn was born in 1962 in Deming, New Mexico to Jack and Barbara Hall. After graduating from Deming High School in 1980, Glenn earned a Bachelors Degree in education and a Masters Degree in history from New Mexico State University. He taught for seven years in the Las Cruces Public Schools, during which time he coached the Mayfield girls tennis team to a state championship.
Deciding to pursue a life long dream, Glenn left teaching and earned a law degree from the University of New Mexico. Following graduation, he returned to Las Cruces to practice law. At the time of his death, he was a partner in the firm of Sandenaw and Associates.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Theresa; stepsons, Joseph and Ryan; mother, Barbara Hall; stepfather, Elwin Nunn; brother Bryan Hall and sister-in-law Diana; sister, Brenda Smith and brother-in-law Jim Smith; and sister, Karen Hall. A large, close extended family also survives him. Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hall.
Glenn was a fan of George Carlin and Bob & Tom, and was a great story and joke teller. He loved Bruce Springsteen, and could recite the lyrics to hundreds of songs. Glenn was working his way through an extensive bucket list, and had already checked off skydiving, a helicopter flight through the Grand Canyon, and a trip to Hawaii with Theresa. He enjoyed tennis, fantasy football, roasting green chile, and driving fast over mountain roads.
One of Glenn's favorite places was the family cabin he helped build in Sacramento, New Mexico, site of many marshmallow fights and games of 42.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces.
Please honor his memory by making someone smile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution be made to the Jack Hall Memorial Scholarship, Deming High School, Guidance Office, 1100 S. Nickel, Deming, NM 88030.

My Dearest Theresa,
First of all I am sorry you are sadend that Glenn didn't get to celebrate his 49th birthday. But please don't dispear, I am sure he would not like to see you in such a state. He would like you to smile: Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow, But remember him in every tomorrow..Remember the joy, the laughter, and all the smiles. He is only gone to rest a little while. Although his leaving causes pain and grief his going has eased his hurt and given him some relief. So dry your eyes and remember him as he used to be full of life and smiles. Because he will remember you all and look down and SMILE. Understand in your Heart He has only gone for a little while. "You Must Move On The Best You Can With The Grace of God And All of Our Helping Hands" Therese not only for you but for your BOYS! They need a HAPPY MOTHER TRYING TO ENBRACE AND ENJOY LIFE LIKE YOU ONCE DID, YES IT WILL BE HARD BUT GLENN WILL BE LOOKING DOWN & HELPING FROM ABOVE!!YOU ARE A STRONG WOMEN AND GLENN SAW THAT IN YOU!THAT'S WHY HE LOVED YOU SO MUCH. I Love You VERY Much and I am here for you (24-7) Just say the word. Once again God Bless The Entire Hall Family.

I spent a weekend with Glenn, Theresa and Ryan earlier this year. I had never met him before but had heard about him from Theresa. I remember that I was touched by how patient he was with Ryan and how much he obviously loved Theresa. My prayers are with Theresa, the boys and all those who will miss Glenn.

To the Hall Family, as I write this I am in tears. Your son and brother brought our daughter Theresa and her two boys so much happiness. He was so attentive to Theresa, always praising Joseph and so very patient with our little Ryan...........he loved Glenn so much. He spoke of his family with so much love. The time we had him in our lives was wonderful. We will truly miss him. Love Sylvia and Mike Barnes

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I knew Glenn mainly through his brother, Bryan, and through the practice of law. Two of the things that I appreciated most about Glenn were his willingness to help folks and his sense of humor. Any time I had a question about New Mexico law, he had an answer and we usually ended up telling each other stories and laughing in the process. I know he will be missed very much by all who knew him, and my condolences go out to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go to the Hall Family. Mr. Hall was my teacher at LCHS for my sophomore year and my senior year. He was a wonderful teacher, very seriuos man, but at the same time full of life and always telling us stories and jokes in his classroom. It was an honor bieng one of his students. I got to see him often also when he worked at City Hall and the last time I saw him was a couple of months ago outside a Pic Quik store. He always had that cheerful smile on him. A couple of days ago I was just thinking about Mr. Hall and today I saw the sad news about his passing. I'm very heartbroken that he is gone. But he will always live in our hearts and memories. May you rest in peace Mr. Hall, our dear teacher.

I remember a Glenn Hall who lived on Platinum street in Deming when I was going to Smith school in the early 70's. I remember his house was right on the corner with those big trees around with an always nice green lawn. He did play tennis I believe and as a kid we hung around with the other neighborhood kids like Stacy Harris and Billy Brown. Could this be the same Glenn I knew as a 5th and 6th grader??

The news of Glenn's death brought sadness and sorrow to my heart. Glenn was my roommate for several years and a friend with a special place in my heart. He was there for me in some very though times. He scolded me when I was out of line. We argued politics (he would be happy to know that I have moved left over time). Most of all, he cared about the people around him and made them laugh. My deepest condolences and prayers are with all who loved Glenn. May my dear friend rest in peace.
