Rook, Albert John
Punta Gorda, FL: 84, passed away November 6, 2009. He was born January 24, 1925 in Medina, NY. Albert served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He retired after 32 years of service in the film testing division with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. Albert and Esther moved to Punta Gorda in 1979 from Rochester NY. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Esther; sons, Dennis (JoAnn) Rook of Golden Hill, AZ, Randall (Barbara) Rook of Red Hook, NY & Richard (Lori) Rook of Cumming, GA; brother-in-law, Lester Balschmiter of Medina, NY; 5 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be to American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail #C2, Port Charlotte, FL 33953. Arr: are with National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, FL.

The ROOK`S living on Fruit Ave. when the car was washed [drive right in ] the creek behind the house. the little store on RT.31A [over the bridge] SUNNY left his snow ski`s at our house while in the Merchant Marines, many times come to our house and returned to his ship. many fond memories SUNNY WILL BE MISSED.
