Rochester: Alex lost his battle with addiction on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the age of 27. Predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Stefan and Maria Sypniak; maternal grandparents, Michael and Sofia Chomik; and uncle, Michael Chomik.

He is survived by his father, Jaroslaw Sypniak; mother, Catherine Chomik; true love, Morgan Eaton; uncles, Bohdan Sypniak, Michael (Irina) Sypniak, Walter (Carolyn) Sypniak, Myron Chomik; aunts, Irene Chomik & Slawka Chomik and many cousins and friends.

His family will receive friends Friday 4-7 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.). Panachyda 6:30pm. Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 10:30am at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church for his Divine Liturgy. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Nielsen House, 383 West Avenue, Rochester, NY 14611. To share a memory or send the family a condolence, please visit www.harrisfuneralhome.com.

We did not know your son. We pray he will be the light to help guide all that are in recovery. Our son is in recovery and knew Alex. May the dear Lord hold him in the palm of his hand. May Alex rest in peace.
