Ann Connors-Adler Obituary

Connors-Adler,

Ann MD PhD

Webster: Ann passed peacefully, but unexpectedly, on November 19. Ann came to Rochester from her birthplace in Manchester, New Hampshire to attend graduate school in Pharmacology and ultimately, study Medicine at the University of Rochester. She entered medical practice and she met and married Tom whom she had met and fallen in love with at a medical conference in Hawaii. Tom and Ann soon created a life together in Rochester, where they followed their passion for medicine and raised two amazing daughters who had joined Tom on the trek east from Oregon. Ann was an intelligent, caring, proud and confident woman who strived to be the best that she could be in life. She had both academic achievements and superior medical judgement. She practiced Internal Medicine until poor health forced her premature retirement. She was a compassionate and caring Doctor, considered, "simply the best" by many of her former patients. She was a loving wife, loyal sister, empathetic aunt and compassionate mother. She was kind, gentle and soft-spoken, but also fun-loving. She always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. In spite of the demands of medical practice and parenting teenage step daughters, she somehow managed to find humor where you would least expect it.

Ann is predeceased by her parents, James and Blanche Connors, and is survived by her husband, Dr. Tom Adler and step-daughters, Karen Adler and Lisa (William) Gonzalez, grandson, Alex Gonzalez, her sister, Jane (Steve) Wilde, nephew, Mike Wilde, and her beloved cat, Siri.

Private funeral was held on November 23. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Monroe County Medical Society Scholarship Fund, The Park at Allens Creek, 132 Allens Creek Road, Rochester, NY, 14618. With deepest sympathy to the family of Dr Connors Adler. She was my medical doctor for many years until she retired and she was the best of the best. She was extremely knowledgeable, very caring and compassionate, down to earth and just a very nice woman.
