Catherine Bergeron Obituary

Bergeron, Catherine (Meisenzahl)
Penfield: August 2, 2008, at age 89. Born July 4, 1919. She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Deacon Albert P. Bergeron; her son, Thomas A. Bergeron; and her parents, Louis and Mary Meisenzahl. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Anne (David) Covert; son, James P. Bergeron; sisters, Mary E. (Frank) Ferris and Leona M. (Thomas) Hickey; sister-in-law, Jeanne Clevenger; 14 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and nephews; many cousins and very special friends. Catherine was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, Nazareth College (1942), and Fordham University, with a Master of Science Degree in Medical Social Work (1949). She was a 60+ year member of the Third Order of St. Dominic, and an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy of Rochester. During her many years of employment, she worked at Catholic Family Center, Rochester General Hospital, Monroe County Health Department, and the Rochester Rehabilitation Center. She was also an active member of several professional organizations.
Calling and Services at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to the Nazareth College Scholarship Fund, 4245 East Ave., Rochester, the Sisters of Mercy Ministry Fund, 1437 Blossom Rd., Rochester, or a charity of your choice.
