Will miss our talks on Timber Brook Lane. They often had to do with nature. One day he invited my grand daughter and me to view the trees in his back yard, including two huge Chinese chestnut trees. He was proud that they were the only ones in Village Green. Later we found a much smaller one across the street, obviously spawned from his trees. We will forever remember it as Charles Chase's Chinese Chestnut tree and remember him as we pass by.

My first memory of Mr. Chase was five years ago when he carried over a pitcher of lemonade and bunch of cups to a group of us in womens club who were weeding the garden at the neighborhood entrance on a hot Saturday afternoon. What a sweet gesture from a sweet man! We'll miss him!

Will miss seeing Charles sitting in his driveway reading the paper! He always had a twinkle in his eye and a kind word for everyone. Love and prayers to his family.

Mr. Chase was such a lovely, endearing, person. We've held a Halloween parade in the neighborhood for a number of years now and he always donated food to the festivities for the kids. I am so very saddened we will no longer be in the presence of his smile and warmth. My deepest condolences to his family.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Tom, and all the family ... I know that Charles figured largely into happy memories for generations of the Fiesinger and Armbruster families, who spent many memorable times together over the years in Rochester and Syracuse. Our Dad, his cousin Bill, fondly referred to Charles as "Jake" right through his later years and always brightened up when they connected (as I recall, often on Charles's July 4th birthday.) My deepest sympathies are with you all, and may the memories you created with your brother, dad, and grandfather come to bring you comfort.

"Firecracker" is an apt description! What a fun, wonderful neighbor he was, and what a sociable and nutty guy (especially considering that his occupation was accountant or something boring like that!). Had no idea he was this old - he had a good run, and brightened ours. Condolences to the Chase descendants.
