Chris, you truly are a diamond in the rough. You were the most kind, joyful, understanding person. The world was blessed to have experienced your presence for 21 years. I hold many of our memories close to my heart.
My heartfelt condolences to Chris's parents... You have many people by your side who loved Chris, dearly and I hope that gives you strength to celebrate the miraculous person he was. Chris will live on in all of us forever.

A Child Loaned
"I'll lend you for a little time
A child of Mine." He said.
"For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven year
Or twenty-two or three
But will you, till I call him back
Take care of him for Me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay
Since all from Earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want the child to learn.
I've looked this wide world over
In my search for teacher's true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,
I have selected you;
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labour vain
Nor hate Me when I come to call
And take him back again?
I fancied that I heard them say,
"Dear Lord, They will be done,
For all the joy Thy child shall bring,
For the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand."

A friend of mine described Chris PERFECTLY--iconic.
I say yes.
Chris was definitely unique and a joy to be around. Smiles followed him wherever he decided to go; not smiling or laughing with Chris was just impossible.
My thoughts and love go out to his family and other friends.

There can be no words adequate to express the shock and sorrow felt by the many close, loving friends of the McMican family. But I will always treasure the memories of Chris's friendly smile, his cheerful voice, his sincere interest and concern for other people regardless of age or situation. I hope that Jack, Ann, and Leah find comfort in remembering the joys and dimensions of their lives with Chris, and in the surrounding love of the wreath of their caring friends and family. Most sincerely, Julia and Tom
