Rochester - Corey Joseph Coakley, 38 years old of Rochester, NY passed away too soon on 4/14/2020. He was born on 7/30/1981, the son of Barbara McCarthy Coakley & Terrance Flaherty. Survived by his beloved wife Amanda, son CJ and daughter Alora. Loved by 3 brothers, 5 sisters, many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and coworkers.
Corey was a true renaissance man, a real life superhero; registered nurse, Army veteran, carpenter, sky diver, husband and father with a personality and heart that was truly bigger than life. Gone but never forgotten.

Amanda, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. I remember Corey from 5800. He oriented with another nurse, but for some reason I oriented him one day. All I know is how amazed I was that he could wrap those little old ladies around his finger when he cared for them. His presence around the hospital will truly be missed.

Nikki , Amanda & family so sorry to hear about Corey. I learned alot from him when he worked in one of the hardest intensive care units at the hospital. He was cool, calm under stressful patient situations and was an advocate for all who he helped get better.
