We were so happy when we heard Aunt Helen was going to marry this wonderful man, Ed Wandtke. He was one of the most gentle, kind, and ambitious people I'd ever met. I remember him telling me about his victories on the bowling alleys just a few years ago when he was in his nineties. What a great role model he was for all of us. We were so lucky to have him in our lives.
Our prayers and thoughts are with
Aunt Helen and the entire family.

Shannon and I were deeply saddened to hear of Great-Uncle Ed's passing. He was a tremendously optimistic man who I always remember greeting me with a smile. He used to enjoy telling Steven and me all about his latest game of golf or bowling. We were always captivated by the stories he told us at the Wandtke gatherings. He was so proud of his grandsons. May Uncle Ed rest in peace and continue to share stories with my brother and my grandfather in their heavenly home. Helen, your painting is in our bedroom, so it is one of the first things we see upon waking. We think of you and Uncle Ed often and we will keep you in our prayers. God bless.

Dear Family of Mr. Wandtke,
I had the good fortune of helping Mr. Wandtke with his travel plans many years ago at the AAA office in Penfield. He was always such a kind man and a pleasure to help. Our paths crossed years later as he bowled with my Dad at Empire Lanes on Wednesdays. My Dad shared an appreciation for him as well. Just wanted to share with you how his being such a kind man touched so many lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so very sorry to hear of Ed's passing. My family spent a lot of time at the Highlands when my mom was there. She passed on last Sept. We always visited with Ed along with many other during lunch. He had a great sense of humor, with a matching personality. When they would take him for his walks he keep moving right along, never giving up. He was a delight to visit with. Ed will be missed by many. Our sincere condolences to all of the family.

To Helen, So sorry to hear about Uncle Ed. He brought so much joy into our lives for such a long time. We remember him talking about preparing frames for the beautiful paintings that your special talent allowed you to create and the good times we had at Camp Eastman.
With our love and sympathy Sharon and Richard Wandtke
To John and Ed and families, It is a sad time and yet a time to reflect on all the joys each of us have had in having the opportunity to know Uncle Eddy. From the time we were children and played basketball at the net on Bernard St. and ate the good food prepared by Aunt Florence to times at the cottage on Lake Ontario in Sodus where my dad and yours taught me how to pitch horseshoes and play euchre. We had good times on Paxton Rd at family gatherings. In later years when we were together he would always tell us about his golf game and how he was doing at bowling. He adored his grandchildren and always talked about how they were doing. It will not be the same, not being able to talk to Uncle Eddy, but we will all have a wealth of memories from having the opportunity to share a portion of the life of this longest living member of the Wandtke family.
With our sympathy to both of you and your families, Sharon and Richard Wandtke

Sorry to see you go, Uncle Ed. I still have the hamper/nite stand you made for me in 1947, so I could keep my room picked up. I'll miss your silly games at picnics. Godson Ray Anne
