Elizabeth Ouimette Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ouimette

Canandaigua - On October 11, 2019 Elizabeth Ann Ouimette from Canandaigua, NY passed away at age 75. Known by all as Bette, she was born in Oneonta, NY to James and Margaret Ouimette. She is survived by three children, James Lioi (Allison Kennedy), Tracey Regan (Joseph) and Giannine Lioi. Bette was pre-deceased by her fourth child Christina Lioi (Dan Webster). She is also survived by her sister Ruth Ouimette (Cindy Freund) and Philip Ouimette (Margery). Throughout her life, she experienced great joy in her grandchildren - Abigayle, Mackinzy, Isabelle, Cathrine, and Emily - as well as her nieces and nephews and their children. Bette moved to Rochester when she married John Lioi and they raised their four children in Greece, NY. For many years Bette served as President of the Women's Guild of St. John's The Evangelist Church as well as volunteering for many community based organizations. She loved to work in her gardens, which were admired by many; and her love of cooking brought great pleasure to large gatherings of family and friends. Throughout her life, she made many dear friends and once a friend her love was unwavering. She is immensely grateful for the love and care given to her by her daughter Tracey and son in law Joseph.

A dear friend from high school days. Bette and I spent much time together listening to music, sharing our innermost dreams and secrets. Bette was a very special friend, very caring and nurturing. I will always keep her in my thoughts and heart. Heaven will be blessed to have her.

My deepest condolences to my cousin, Bette Ann. I have fond memories of our early childhood together with the cousins at Grandma's house in Oneonta. They never faded with the years and miles that separated us. Janet Kerley

Bette was such a lovely, warm, and special person. She had a certain quiet grace about her that was so inviting and comforting. I know she was very loved. She will be greatly missed. I'm so grateful to have known her. Sending love and prayers to her and her entire family but especially Tracey and Joe who shared their lives with her. May she be at peace.
