Wendy & Family-
I was saddened to hear of Eric's passing. In 2002, Eric took a chance on me by hiring me right out of college to work at WROC, launching my career in media. I am forever grateful.

Eric was a good friend to know and great resource over the years. Many may not know he was the leading pioneer in bringing THE finest quality digital TV to our area, second to none. We also had many email exchanges over the years. I knew him as a fellow HAM radio operator and from my days on the Fairport Police force. RIP Eric. Jim Stefano - W2COP

I had the pleasure of working with Eric at WROC-TV Channel 8 in Rochester. He was a genuinely nice man. I ran into him a couple of years ago at Despatch Junction in East Rochester. We shared a love of WNY radio stations and trains. Condolences to your family.

Dear Wendy and family. I was so sad to hear about Eric's passing. He was such a tremendous man and a true role model to me back in my early days at WROC. I always enjoy Ed popping back to his office and just shooting breeze. I'll always look back fondly at those days.
My condolences to you and your family.

To the family, I didn't know Eric very well but I had conversed many times while I was an audio engineer at WXXI and attending meetings such as SBE. I remember him as a very nice person and his love of what he did.

To the family of Eric Melenbacker, my thoughts and prayers are with at this time. I had the pleasure of working with Eric while at Channel 8 for two and a half years in the late nineties. Eric was a great chief engineer for Channel 8 during his tenure there. Along with being a stand-up guy. It was an honor to have worked beside him during my time in Rochester. May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Wendy and the rest of the family. I only got to work with Eric for a short time but he was a joy to work with. But more than that, he was a good, decent man.
