I'll never forget Gloria. She was my sister-in-law and dear friend. We had so much fun on our vacations together. She was our "social secretary" and planned such nice trips for us. I loved Gloria and missed talking to her on the phone when she could no longer communicate. My sympathy goes out to Paul, Paul and Lisa and Ryan and Stefanie. I know they will miss her but think of her of an angel in heaven. I love you all.

Dear Paul and Family,

I remember Gloria from our high school years and even though we havn't been in touch all these years, just like this candle, she always had a certain light around her.

I know you must feel the pain of loss but please be comforted by the light she now enjoys in our Lord's presence.

God bless.

As we were on our way to church yesterday morning we were reminded that eventually the sun always comes out from behind the clouds. Gloria and I learned many life lessons during her courageous battle with A.L.S. We learned that in this fast paced world more people have phones but the art of conversation is becoming lost. She loved to talk and that was one of the things that we missed the most, even though we still found ways to communicate. So always remember to pick up the phone and call someone you love to tell them that, and take a few minutes to talk about anything or nothing. Also, when you get the chance kick off your shoes, feel the sand between your toes and walk down the beach to look for natures treasures. It is never the same place twice, you will feel the wonder of God and you will be amazed at the treasures that you find!
I know that you are now truly resting in peace, my hero, my sister, my friend. I love You, Sis

I met Gloria when my daughter, Stefanie, and Ryan were planning their wedding. She was such a wonderful, fun, entertaining lady. I was so taken by her and told Stefanie how very lucky she was to have her as a Mother-In-Law. I had a Mother-In-Law who was also wonderful and knew how special she was. Stefanie couldn't have chosen a better woman than Gloria and she will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to the whole family as she was such a special person.

Sincerest condolences to Paul and family. As friend and former classmate we all have so many wonderful memories of Gloria's pleasant smile and wonderfully mischievous personality. Cannot seem to get her rendition of Alvin (the Chipmonk) singing Christmas songs out of my head...don't remember what grade in school that was, but just like her, it seems to transcend time. May she rest in peace and her memory be alive in all of you, forever.

I'm sorry for your family's loss. Mrs. Szwejbka was the reason I pursued a career in meteorology, going way back to the Earth Science class she taught. I'm glad that I was able to keep in touch with her after I graduated, but it is truly sad to see her taken so soon.

Gloria –
You will be forever loved and missed. I will never forget the exciting overnight stays and mall trips with you and my mom – or playing videogames in your basement when I was little. I will always cherish the love for fossils and geodes you instilled in me. In one way you were just like a fossil - you were a special treasure found here on earth. The fossil is left behind to tell a story – and while the living body is no longer here with us – the memories remain. We are all better people for having known you and having you in our lives. You are a strong, smart, kind, caring, beautiful, inspirational, woman and words cannot even come close to expressing how much you mean to us all. I know you will be watching over us all – and while it saddens our hearts that you are no longer here with us – I am so glad you are finally at peace. Love you so much.
XOXOXO - My thoughts and love are with you Paul, Paul Eric, Ryan and family.

Gloria was known to me as "Mrs. Szwebjka", my mom's best friend throughout my childhood years and beyond. While the occasions that we spent time together have dwindled in number, the love and admiration for her and family has not. Her oldest son Paul and I were on a race out of our respective mother's wombs. Paul won that race by a couple weeks, but we all became winners with the reward of our lifelong friendships. God bless the Szwebjka family.
