Henrietta: Born February 26, 1945, died February 12, 2008. Mr. Guarino was called home by the Lord, he passed away peacefully after a short illness while awaiting a liver transplant. He was the son of the late Ignatius and the late Anna Guarino. He is survived by son, Jonathan Labby; daughter, Jessica Labby; the children's mother, Sandra A. Labby; several aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends and also his best friend and companion of 15 years, Pat Galante and his beloved cats.
Mr. Guarino proudly served in the Army National Guard and retired in June from UCB Inc., a pharmaceutical firm after serving 43 years in the industry as a pilot plant technician. He never left the work site but served under 9 employers thus making him the longest serving employee in the company. In his youth, James was a alter server at the old St. Joseph's Church in Rochester. He will be sadly missed and was a gentle, loving man who loved children, animals, playing the lottery and the horses and the Conesus Lake area. James used to race a power boat, the Sidewinder which was his pride and joy.
Friends are invited to call Friday, 2-4, 7-9 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. Jim's Funeral Mass will be held in Guardian Angels Church, 2061 E. Henrietta Road on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation or any animal service group or children's group in his memory.
