His wife, Mary will be bringing some of his ashes to spread up around Flat Top Mountain and a service will be at the Pres. Church on Huffman Road. Anyone who wishes to be kept informed of the details can contact me and I will keep an email list so that I can contact everyone with the details in the Spring. Jake, he made us all laugh. Not only was Jake our best man at our wedding, he was a great brother and best friend. So many stories, memories. Spending time with Jake and Mary this past year were lots of memories relived. Jake kept us all up to date.

Abideth faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love. We're all going to miss you so very much.

Jim has been a very good friend of mine since we were in the fourth grade together at 33 school. If you had only one friend in your lifetime and he was Jim Jacobs you could consider yourself very fortunate.
I know I am for having been Jim's friend all these years. I will miss you and your great courage and sense of humor.

A friend loveth and is kind. Jake was a
gentle and caring soul. He touched many
lives. He will be missed but, not forgotten. Jake was among the few who made others feel good no matter what he
was going through. We know he is in God's arms smiling down on us.

To Mary and all the children. We had a nice visit in August when we were there. Last summer was great going to breakfast and him seeing you ride on the motorcycle with your brother. We had a great day at Marisa's first Indy race too. She was so happy to see family their to support her. Jake waited in line for the autograped picture for her. It is one of her treasured pictures. I wish we could be with you in person, but we are in heart and soul. Take care of the family. Lots of Love Penny and Ross

Jake was a very good friend and he will be dearly missed, but not forgotten! Missed will be the phone calls, emails, IM’s and occasional letters that we shared between New York and Alaska these past years and Not Forgotten will be the times we had with Sigma Chi and the Zeta Sigma Chapter at ENMU in Portales, the football and basketball pools we used to keep the bond of brotherhood together across the distances we all moved to after leaving Eastern. Jake was the glue that kept me in touch with many over the years and to that I will be eternally grateful.
For Mary, Libby and Chelsea, I send my heartfelt sympathy for your loss is even greater then what I feel.

What a wonderful man!!! My aunt Peggy and I had the pleasure of working with him at Prudhoe Bay in the 80's. He was always full of humor. There was a side of Jake that he was very serious when you had a time of crisis or need..Two months ago when my Aunt Peggy was diagnosed with cancer Jake called her and wrote to her and said "keep going, Peggy, keep going" and "never give up"..those words we hold dearly to our hearts. 25 years later and through his courageous battle he still had thoughts for somebody else...that was Jake....We will miss you Jakie and we love you!! Thanks for the memories!!!

To Jim's family...I was a customer of his for years at the art gallery and was so disappointed when he closed.Going to the gallery was more than just business.I enjoyed listening to his stories of living and working in Alaska...He was very proud of his daughters and shared how at a young age they traveled across country...He always had a story to tell. Although I had not seen Jim in several years I always thought of him.(And wished he was back in business) My sincere condolences to Jim's family at this sad time.

I will miss dearly my Uncle Jake. He taught me the joys of Green Bean Casserole and Meatloaf. He showed me where to get the cheapest gas when I visted and always kept me guessing whether the next time I saw him he would be wearing his hair or not! Mostly I will miss his jokes, his laugh, and his love. My thoughts are with all my extended family in Rochester and Alaska.
