I worked with Jim when I went to the day shift at the sheriff's office. We worked the same days together and he was always trying to get me to go salmon fishing with him in Lake Ontario. He needed someone to help him launch his boat and we were off the same days. I wasn't into salmon fishing back then and I only fished the finger lakes. In the last 12 years, I have been fishing Lake Ontario tournaments and the ProAm and I don't know how many times I have told people how I regretted not fishing with Jim when I had the opportunity to learn. I ran into Jim a few ago when I was working at Gander Mountain in the fishing department. I told him how I wished I had started salmon fishing with him earlier and the different teams I have been on in the tournament circuit. I probably would have been a charter captain. He just smiled with that big grin and said,"Hey, I told you".
We had a lot of laughs in the sheriff's office and roll call in the morning were some fun times and some funny stories.
Jimmy was a good guy.

I remember Jim Watson as a close friend of my older brother, Gary Cole (recently deceased). We all grew up together in Fishers, NY. My younger brother Bob (also deceased) was always going down to Mrs. Watson's house because he loved her cooking. So much fun at this time of the year and ice skating down at The Mill Pond and always stopping at Bob Hunt's store. We all went to Victor Central School and rode Bus #15 with Don Green driving. Many of us played cards on the bus after school because it was such a long ride. Good memories. What a great reunion it will be when we all see each other in Heaven.

I have good thoughts and memories of Jim from both on the job and before I started with the Sheriff's Dept. He showed how to drive the Pacer Carts when he was training horses for Batavia Downs.
He was alway willing to help the new deputies on the job and always had a positive attitude and smile. Jim Watson- A good man.

I attended the Police Academy with Jim and worked with him for 20 years in the Sheriff's Department. He was a great guy who always tried to maintain a positive attitude, even when bad things happened. My condolences to his family.
