Jeffrey Rickert Obituary
Farmington: Passed away on December 4, 2014 at age 42. Jeffrey was predeceased by his father Joseph Rickert. He is survived by his mother Virginia Rickert of Farmington; brothers Dennis Rickert of Victor, Kevin (Jill) Rickert of WI, nephew Blake Rickert and many family members and friends in Victor, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Jeffrey's Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. TUESDAY at St. Patrick's Church (115 Maple Ave., Victor, NY). Interment will be private. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Jeff Rickert Memorial Fund, 95 Northrup Ln., Farmington, NY 14425, to support the education of his beloved nephew, and the health and welfare of his family during this time. Arrangements:

I still don't believe you have left us, Jeff. My mind won't let me believe it. I first met and worked with Jeff at the Campaign for America's Future. When he left CAF, we still stayed in touch, and I would see him on the streets of DC and chastise him for smoking. Jeff was so brilliant for his age and loved the pursuit of a green energy future. You will be forever loved in my heart and in the hearts of my friends, husband, and former co-workers.

My thoughts and condolences are with Jeff's family at this difficult time and his wide array of diverse friends and colleagues, who like me were surprised to hear of his sudden passing.
As a student leader, friend and alum at GW, Jeff was an inspiration to me and others. He often challenged my most basic assumptions and personal and organizational values through his thoughtful insights and dedicated approach to working with others to support communities and solve problems as true partners and neighbors. He will be missed at GW and in DC by all who loved his spirit and passion for community organizing.

My thoughts are with Jeff's family. I knew Jeff at the AFL-CIO and was always impressed by his dedication and commitment to helping working families. You knew he cared deeply about his work and his family. I missed him when he left the AFL-CIO but knew he would continue to do good work elsewhere. His presence will be sorely missed.

No words can express our condolences. We send our love to Jeff's family and hold special thoughts of love for Blake in our hearts as he held such a special place in his uncle's heart. To have had been allowed to know Jeff and work with him for many years has made us better people. Jeff's loving friendship, his passion, brilliance,and vision for a more just world has left a void in our lives and in the labor movement.
