Allison, Jessica Tuley

Corning, NY: 95, died July 30, 2012, in Corning, NY. She was born April 11, 1917, to George and Enid Brearey Tuley in Rochester.

Jessica graduated with honors from the Rochester School for the Deaf and attended RIT where she majored in art. She married James W. Alpha II in 1939. The couple moved to Indianapolis, IN, where her husband, a teacher, was struck by a car the following year. Widowed at 23, Jessica moved back to Rochester. She was employed by Kodak for 40 years.

Charming and vivacious, Jessica traveled widely and adventurously. Her friendships were close and longstanding, her correspondence worldwide. She was an accomplished artist and photographer. In 1962, she married Thomas J. Allison of Rochester; they resided in Henrietta, NY & Seeley's Bay, ON.

Jessica was predeceased by her parents, both of her husbands, and by her sisters Enid (Jo) Gardner and Helen Hanna. She is survived by her sister Esther Dutcher (Glenn) of Rochester and her brother Douglas Tuley of Manhattan Beach, CA, and by her son James W. Alpha III (Karen) of Corning, and grandsons, Christopher Alpha (Carrie) of Ithaca and Nicholas Alpha of New York; also great-grandchildren Mika, Zoe and Malu Rose Alpha.

A celebration of her life will be held later at the convenience of the family.

I just wanted you to know how deeply saddened I was on your loss. You know how very close Jessica and I were. I was proud to call her my dearest friend and I will miss her very much. We have lost one of the kindest and gentlest people I have ever had the privilege to know. I am feeling your pain and sorrow at this difficult time. You have my sincere sympathy.
