I am so sorry to hear this. I actually live in the San Jose area since 1988. John hired me in 1980 for my first job out of college. I was the only female engineer in the company and it was a huge challenge. John made me feel like I could accomplish anything. Being 1/2 Italian I knew a few words and it made him smile. For the short time I knew him he had my utmost respect. I wish all managers could follow in his footsteps.

Dear Sonia, John was a kind, funny and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was always smiling and was always upbeat and positive. I loved seeing him when we were at Perlo's. He will be missed.

My wife and I are deeply saddened at the loss of John. I worked for John many years ago and got to know him and Sonia very well. He was far more than an employer but became a dear friend who would do anything for you. He was always availble to anyone who approached him. We will all miss him dearly. Our loss is God's gain. I hope to see my friend again someday.

Dear Sonia - So many years ago, so many memories. I started working for John as his secretary at Singer Education on Dec. 12, 1977. The first year was a learning experience for both of us. I was not used to strong Italian men and he made me cry one day (I was 32 then, Irish and quiet). It upset him so much he took me to his office and apologized and apologized and apologized. We were forever friends after that. He wanted me to take his personal bank deposit to Pittsford one morning in his brown Cadillac. I was very hesitant, but he talked me into it. The only time in my life I have ever driven a Cadillac! Thank you John for the experience. He spoke every day of his love for you Sonia and his daughters. May God bring you comfort and peace at this time, knowing that you will be together again.

John was a GIANT among men. He was kind and caring and a lovable and generous man. He was always so happy and loved seeing his friends. It is reassuring to know that John is now with the Lord. Ed Frederico

We were so sad to read about John's passing as my husband and I have such fond memories of John. He always credited himself for being matchmaker to me and my husband back in the Singer Education days and I never had the heart to tell him that we already knew each other! Please accept our sincere sympathy to all of John's family. John and Julie Chantra
