John Cooney Obituary
Geneva: On Sunday, June 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughters, Erica (Patrick) Connor of Geneva, Kathleen (Ron) Lesko of Albany and his son, John Andrew (Michelle) Cooney Jr. of Victor. Two sisters, Nora (Robert) Krol of North Charleston, SC and Celia (William) McAdoo of Geneva. Five grandchildren, Patrick Connor IV, Sarah Jane Connor, Sofia Lesko and Zachary and Kyle Cooney. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was a member of Local 46 Sheet Metal Union.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St. Geneva on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 .a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions, in his memory may be made to Geneva Troop 4 of the Boy Scouts of America or to Thrive to Survive.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Cooney's passing. He was consistently friendly and outgoing and never forgot to ask about you and your family. Mr. Cooney was a dedicated Geneva sports fan - whether one of his kids was playing or not. He will be greatly missed by the entire community.

Mr Cooney surely left an amazing impression on many, and for sure those friends of the class of 91 and 92!.
