It was that smile that "Deke" always seem to have, and patience of the "gentle soul" -- as so many of you among the 1966 Classmates have stated. "He that can have patience can have what he will." -- perhaps, a shibboleth and happy meaningful epitaph for our friend John J. DeCarlo as stated in our "Clintonian 1966" Yearbook.

Deepest Sympathy on the passing of my Clinton High Class of 66 friend. Always knew him to be a kind and gentle man. Glad I saw him one last time at our 50th Class reunion. Prayers.

I remember John in high school as a kind and gentle soul. He was friendly and nice to everyone. My sincerest sympathy to his wife, daughter and family.

John and I were classmates at the University of Rochester (1970) as well as at Clinton High School (1966), the latter where we were on the track team. John always had a good word for everyone and was a well-liked "regular guy" in every respect. We'll miss you, buddy.
