John Selvek Obituary
Oxnard, CA: Age 70, passed away from a brief illness on March 7, 2009. Predeceased by his parents, George and Isabelle Selvek. Survived by his loving wife, Mieko of 47 years; daughters, Mary (John) Black of Oxnard, Janet (Glenn) Rice of GA; son, George W. Selvek of Oxnard; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Norma), George R. (Lorraine), Paul (Debbie), James (Susan), and Joseph Selvek; sister, Mary Jane (Clyde) Main; several nieces and nephews.

Dad, it's been 16 years since you have passed away. Not a day goes by that you are not on our minds. We miss you so much and wish you and mom were still here with us. Wish you could see your great grand children. They are both growing so fast. We miss spending the holidays with you and mom. Rest in peace! Love, Mary

Although we did'nt know John very long I truly believe people's paths cross for a reason and i'm so glad we had the chance to meet him. John was a very kind man and I thank him so much for looking out for my father and keeping him company at the Glenwood. So sorry I just heard about his passing today but know that he's with God and you have all the memories, and honor to have had him for 70+ years. Everytime I watch a Laker game I will think of him and how he loved to watch watch the games. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers.

Selvek family, John was my supervisor at Lockheed martin for many years. He was an exceptional man and one to look up to his honesty and his love he showed to all who came into his path. John you will be missed dearly.

Oh my gosh. I knew John for many years while he worked at Northrop. He was always very kind, made sure to know customer's names and made sure that shipments went out quickly. What a great guy. I'm sorry for your loss.

I will always remember John for the Good and Honest man he was. I only knew him for a short time, but I liked him from when we first met. From a sailor to a Marine, Fair winds and following seas John.
