Joseph Rinere Obituary

Rinere, Joseph C.

Penfield: February 17, 2014. Predeceased by his brother, Frank J. Rinere. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Joan Marie Rinere, Suzanne (Ted) O'Brien and Joseph D. (Aimee) Rinere; grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail, Katherine, Jessica, Brynne and Corinne; sister-in-law, Penny Rinere; brothers-in-law, Fred (Karen) Savella and Italo Savella; sister-in-law, Rita Savella; also survived by several nieces and nephews, two grand-nephews and cousins in Rochester and many friends here in Rochester and elsewhere.

Joseph graduated from the University of Rochester and Syracuse Law and practiced law since 1967, the last 19 years at Rinere & Rinere, LLP. He was dedicated to his clients and they to him. He was a longtime member of Irondequoit Rotary; member and former board member of Bayview YMCA; avid motorcyclist; member of Rochester Peace Makers Motorcycle, Inc., from 1972-2012. Joseph was also a longtime volunteer and supporter of Heritage Christian Services.

He had two loves in his life and they always came first, his family and his law practice of 47 years. Clients seemed to sense that he really had a genuine desire to help them with their problems and represented some people for over 40 years.

We want to thank Dr. Eric Kim and oncology nurse, Mary Attridge and Dr. Kenneth Usuki and staff at Wilmot Cancer Center and especially Dr. Joseph A. DiPoala, Sr., a friend and his personal physician who gave enormous help and advice. We also want to thank Dr. Alex Kurchin at RGH who dropped everything and considered Joe's longevity and quality of life above all else. He is a remarkable man.

Friends may call Wednesday, 2-4, 6-8 PM at the funeral chapel (1031 Ridge Road, Webster). A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 10:30 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1355 Hatch Road, Webster. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Heritage Christian Services Foundation, 349 W. Commercial Street, Suite 2795, East Rochester, NY 14445. To share a memory of Joseph or send a condolence to the family, visit www.anthonychapels.com

Dear Rinere Family,
I did not know Mr. Rinere as long as my husband John, but I did learn very quickly to respect and follow his sage advice. He helped my husband and I when we had concerns about an area of land we were about to purchase before building our home. Mr.Rinere was always caring in his mannerism and voicing to us he wanted us to feel " safe" with our purchase. We will miss him.
Mr.Rinere, now, after the help you've given to many; it is your turn to rest safely and peacefully in the arms of our Good Lord in heaven. We are praying for you and your family. You will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy and prayers. Joe always had a smile on his face when I saw him downtown near the law practice. He was also a huge help to Frank and me when we went through a difficult home buying experience years ago. We would not have been able to move in our home if he had not intervened. A good man.
