Kurt Geihs Obituary
Rochester: April 19, 2012. Kurt is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Rebecca (Donald) Geihs-Coe, & Eric (Paula) Geihs; grandson, Steven Crist; granddaughter, Katie (Tony) Bargeron; 2 great grandchildren, Ryan & Jacob; cousins, Arnold (Madelyn) Monno; god daughter, Nancy Duffy, also nieces & nephew, William Geihs; & many relatives in Germany. Kurt was a WWII Army veteran & Rochester Fire Department retiree (Engine 12). He & his wife Elizabeth are former members of the German Dance Group S.V. Heidengold, Rochester International Folk Dancers.
The family will receive friends to share memories FRIDAY (4/27) from 4 -7 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home 495 N. Winton Rd., (between Browncroft & Humboldt). Funeral Service SUNDAY (4/29) 2 PM Brighton Reformed Church (805 Blossom Rd., 14610). Private Interment White Haven Memorial Park. Please consider honoring Kurt with a donation to the Memorial Fund of Brighton Reformed Church. Online Condolences welcomed at:

Dear Geihs Family, Kurt will be missed and fondly remembered always. His father and brother and himself have been getting their haircuts from me and my family since 1959 and maybe earlier at our first location on East Ave. I started cutting hair at 13 years old and I still can remember how I admired Kurt being a strong fireman who worked with my cousins at firehouse 12.Years later I would see him and his wife Betty dancing and ompa ompaing at the October Fests around the area. They really enjoyed themseves. I told Kurt as he aged he started reminding me very much of his father, Bill. He would just smile that quiet smile. Our prayers are with your family.

Becky, Don and the rest of the Geihs family: I wish to send my condolences to all of you. He was a nice man and I enjoyed seeing him at your wedding and the German dances I attended. I know he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
