Mac was a longtime and loyal client of mine at sport clips in Penfield. I started cutting his hair when he was 15 years old. I always looked forward to his visits and was devastated to recently hear of his untimely passing. Mac was a great guy a pleasure to know and will be sadly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends

To Mac Hargrave's family, especially his Mom and Dad and
his numerous friends,
I was shocked and terribly saddened to hear of his passing.
We played softball together for many years, on many championship teams. I found him to be a remarkably respectful young man, with a quiet intensity, based in
depth of thought and wonderful family learned values.
He was an outstanding athlete with an intuitive understanding of our game, in which he excelled. His good
humor and ease of communicating made it a pleasure to be
in his company. in my opinion, he was an outstanding young
man; I am proud to have known him and enriched to have spent time with him. He will be dearly missed by all fortunate
enough to have been in his circle.
God bless you all in this difficult time. My deepest condolences in our collective loss.
Sincerely yours, Russ Conlon

I met Mac about 5 years ago when he worked on the installation of our new kitchen. He always arrived to work with a smile on his face, and was courteous, friendly, and a hard worker. Our kitchen turned out beautifully. Not only was Mac a skilled builder and craftsman, but he was a really nice guy. I remember asking him to look at a bedroom door which was sticking. He grabbed a hammer and started pounding. To someone who is completely clueless about home repairs, i was astounded by this easy fix. Mac just laughed and told me "it was a trick of the trade." I feel fortunate that he worked on our kitchen and taught me a skill I have been able to use to this day. I am very sad to hear of Mac's passing, and offer my deep sympathy to his family and friends. Peace , love and healing thoughts.

It is with so much sorrow that I am writing about Mac being gone way too soon from this earth. Mac was like a son to me. I think he lived with us for many weekends of his Jr High years while going to Penfield schools with Dan. He would leave me cute little notes for the groceries I needed. The note would say, "Mrs. Pearson, you need milk, cereal, bread, eggs, and cookies". Some Saturdays, we would wake up to a full-blown breakfast, made by Mac. I think there were a few weekends when Mac was with us and I wasn't sure where Dan was staying.
We loved Mac.
Very few people can say they had a best friend from Jr High to adulthood. My son Dan can say this. We moved to Rochester at the beginning of 7th grade for Dan. Mac was one of his first friends. They played sports together. They played the saxophone. They were best friends surrounded by a bunch of other great best friends. I can see now that Dan was so lucky to have Mac -- but they were supposed to grow old together...
I can't imagine this loss for Tim, Nancy, Emily, and Sam and the rest of their family and friends. We aren't supposed to lose our kids. I am so sorry for your loss.
Dan went to St Bonaventure University and was Mac's room-mate until graduation. Mac was best man at Dan's wedding. His "best man toast" was the best I ever heard. Delivered with comedy and sincere gratitude for the friendship between them, Mac was always there for Dan.
I know of many other times when Mac had Dan's back -- he continually demonstrated what being a best friend meant.
I will miss you Mac. With all of my love to the Hargrave family -- Dan Pearson's mom

I am so saddened to read this. This reminds me so much of the Mac I met at St. Bonaventure. I regret not playing more golf with you after college. I have such fond memories of playing with you and Patric and others there. You were so approachable and inclusive and funny and witty. I came down to visit my senior year in high school and can probably say you were a big reason I chose to go there. I feel great sadness for you, and all you loved and were loved by in return. I feel anger because it seems some of the best lovers of life are taken from this world to early. I have not felt this feeling in a wile and dont quite have the words to express it. I am sending my love to you, your family and friends you knew the best. Sometimes its better to light one candle than curse the darkness. Since I was shocked by hearing the news of your passing, I have been cursing the darkness. Today I will light a candle. I will include you with the friends I remember when I have to make hard choices, or push through challenging times. Your memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of those that got to spend time with you. Peace Forever Mac.

What unexpected and sad news. I have such amazing memories of playing baseball and being classmates with Mac at PHS. We were captains together our senior year. It was an honor to do that along side of him. Our moms along with one other mom started what is now the booster club for PHS baseball.
Words cannot express my sadness for his family and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you

Mac was an artist...a true professional, and a master craftsman. He did extensive work on my new home, last year, and I grew to admire him for his dedication to the job, and his eye for perfection. We had many hours to talk and I got to understand the true scope of this person's interests and love of so many things. He had a very quick whit, and and infectious laugh. I looked forward to the days when he was scheduled to be here. Even as a virtual stranger, I am profoundly saddened by this terrible, and untimely departure. RIP my friend. You definitely left a heart print!!!!

Rafe and I are so devastated to hear about this. Rafe fondly remembers being football teammates with Mac at PHS. Mac was always kind to me, the new girl who moved to Penfield from the city, when so many others were not. We would be honored to make a donation to FLLT in his name. Please let us know when services will be held.
