Marlene Lily Obituary

Lily, Marlene

(Phillips) (Charyn)

Santa Rosa, CA: 11/28/16, after a long bout with cancer. Born in Rochester, NY to Warren and Marion Smith Phillips, graduated from Our Lady of Mercy HS '59 and Syracuse Univ. Moving to CA, she was an editor, writer, cab driver, photographer, farmer, an Ashram resident and a political activist. Her final articles were exposés of the cover-up of fluoridation toxicity. In 40+ years in the North Bay she was also one of Sonoma County's top-selling realtors. Her home in Santa Rosa mirrored her creative spirit: fruit trees, ripening vegetables, her oil paintings, books and magazines overflowing.

Marlene is survived by her son, Daniel (Yun Mei), grandson, Dylan; siblings Tom Phillips and Linda Trame (Michael); 8 nieces; stepmother, Eunice Phillips, and 2 grand nieces.

I was sad to read of Marlene's passing. She was a great realtor and wonderful person. I enjoyed reading about her interesting and intriguing life. She was truly a special person.

Marlene you will truly be missed in the Real Estate Community. You always showed such understanding of the process. We will always remember.

Marlene was my next-door neighbor when growing up in suburban Rochester, NY. And while 4 years younger - she was one of the brightest, funniest, fun-loving and creative persons I ever knew at the time. My mother would love it when she would come over and "pay-us-a-visit". My deepest sympathy to her brother/sister and family.

We will miss Marlene's spirit and her contagious laugh! As sick as she was, she got down to the polls and voted on election day -- true to her ideals to the very last...
