Rochester - October 27, 2020. Father Peter is survived by his brothers, Arthur "Buzz" (Nancy) Deckman & Bernard (Jill Corey) Deckman; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. For more information about Father Peter please visit www.bartolomeo.com
PER NYS REGULATIONS, ALL ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS AT THE FUNERAL HOME, CHURCH & CEMETERY.
Father Peter's life story will be shared during his visitation, Sunday, November 1st, 1-4 PM, at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 & Long Pond Rd.).
Father Peter will lie in state Monday, November, 2nd, from 9-10 AM at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin St. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM, the Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Rochester, presiding. The church has seating restrictions, for those unable to attend, Father Peter's Mass will be live streamed at www.holyapostleschurchfamily.org Interment will follow in the priest section at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of one's choice.

Hey Pete! While I am sorry to have missed your celebration, I am grateful to have shared in your life. Who knew, when we entered Ou Lady of Good Counsel I 1945, that we would come full circle with the nuns seventy five years later? Thank you for being, Padre Pedro.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin, Peter. I am one of Howard and Beverly Weltzer’s children. Our dad had wonderful memories of Peter, Buzzy and Bernie. I remember well Father Peter visiting Holy Name of Jesus Church when he was home briefly from Bolivia. What a larger than life figure he was to me as a little girl. Please know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Buzz and Bernie
My husband Barry and I have many fond memories of Peter. My husband was a ham radio operator and corresponded with your mother thru this procedure when Peter was in Bolivia. He also went to Bolivia to set up antenna's so they could correspond while he was their. When he was in the Newark parish our family and he also became close friends. What a wonderful priest he was to our parish. He will be truly missed.
