Peter was a kind and gentle brilliant and caring young man in high school. To his still grieving family I wish you happy memories and a joy filled heart over the beautiful man I'm certain Peter became. Sincerely, a high school friend of Peters.

Dear Family,
I am so sorry! I just heard! I am shocked and saddened. I knew Peter from BCC singles group. We went out a couple times several years ago. My sympathies to you all.

Hi Letson Family,
So enjoyed your family and the many years of ministry with Peter. I was sad I live so far away and could not be with you all for his service. So young, so bright and his gifts of service will be missed by many! Whether it was Christmas trees or square dances or hiking in the Adirondacks,he could organize an event and make it affordable, fun and memorable for everyone as only Peter could do!

I have fond memories of Peter and his family in their time and service at Browncroft Community Church. Prayers for peace today and a reunion in the day to come.

I knew Peter as a teaching colleague with the RCSD Home/Hospital Program. His high-level knowledge of science and math meant they would assign him to teach much harder subjects than they would assign me. But that was not the only thing I liked about him.
He served his colleagues for many years as an officer with the Rochester Teachers Association. He also served on the committee that negotiated our salary contracts with the City School District. Those of us who served with him on that committee fondly remember his salary proposals, which he called matrixes--several pages of salary configurations with vast arrays of numbers--showing different step levels advancing through the years. He created these voluminous matrixes by hand, using only a calculator, long after the advent of the spreadsheet, and presented them to us in a manner that was disarmingly cheerful, in contrast to the wrangling and often heated exchanges going on between the rest of us . He then would redo the matrixes without complaint, based on objections from other committee members, and would present them to us with the same cheerfulness at the next meeting.
We were lucky to have Peter's generous talents and good company. There must be a lot of former students out there who feel the same.

To the loving family of Peter I send my sincere condolences. Peter was a kind and gentle soul all throughout high school. I remember him very fondly in choir at Wheatland Chili ---- tall and lanky and smiling. He was always very kind to everyone.

We are sad Peter's life ended in such a way, but wonderful that he was a believer, a good man, and talented singer. We sang with him for a dozen years in the ROS, and enjoyed many times going out for coffee after Monday night rehearsals.

My wife and I never knew Peter but if he was anything like his parents [George and Ruth] his Apple surely didn't fall far from the tree. Does anyone know the whereabouts of His parents? They were so Great Christian People too. Call me at 585-746-0299.

We of the Rochester Oratorio Society will deeply miss the faithful tenor singing and personal presence of Peter Hatfield Letson. He volunteered at Rochester's Classical Idol for us last Spring. Always generous with his time and talents, he was appreciated. Many thanks to Peter's family for calling for donations to ROS in our 70th Season, 28 of which were enjoyed by Peter.

All of us in the ROCHESTER ORATORIO SOCIETY send our sympathy wishes to Peter's family. Peter sang tenor with ROS for over 28 years (1980-2015), and continued singing with us during this brave fight with cancer. Peter will be missed!

Prayers to Peter's family during this time. I knew Peter through one of Browncroft Community Church's ministries. I remember how faithfully every year he opened his home for a barn/square dance and how he found the best places to go for our church retreats. He will be missed.
