I worked with Richard for several years -- he made the days pass more easily with his wit, humor and enthusiastic storytelling. He taught me so much about literature and teaching that I will always carry with me. Thanks, Richard, for everything. You will be missed.

I met Dick at the Long Point skating rink in the early 60's and taught with him at RH for many years. A good man and a great truth teller

Dick has been a friend of mine, on and off for more than 60 years. Loved his sense of humor and quick wit. His passing is a great loss to all who knew him.
